In reply to Betty Gaw. Betty, it was not normal looking because it was getting infected from remaining in the uterus for 8 hours past delivery. (Four is usually the max of the normal range).

I am just so happy that he is here all safe and sound and such a BEAUTIFUL baby. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you and your beautiful horses . Especially for those of us who will never own one of those magnificent animals. Give momma and that little Wildfyre a hug for me and one for you for being such a great human momma

Very well written! And Fyre’s tail! Wow! He doesn’t have to go through what we go through for highlights!. So I know part of the placenta was not “normal” looking. Did the vet say why? Was it just because it wasn’t passed in a timely manner?
